Watching people grow is an amazing experience.
Seeing how they go from who they were to who they are now is absolutely fascinating. But how to take all that wisdom and apply it to yourself is kind of impossible. Because you’re watching.
And who knows! Maybe even though you’re watching you’re growing too, but it doesn’t necessarily feel like it. In fact, sometimes it doesn’t feel like anything at all, and other times it feels like you’re giving up a part of yourself. Even if that part of you is irrational and foolish.
It’s kind of like holding onto a security blanket. “Well I’ve always done it this way! This is who I am!” No. It’s Not. Who you are goes much deeper than that.
You can still be happy by letting go of that vice. AH! There’s the wisdom. Who knew? It was there the whole time! But it’s about letting go. And being able to accept that it’s gone. That vice, that trait, that particular occurrence, does not make you who you are. You make you who you are, and who you are going to be.
Now that we’ve dusted that off. What are you gonna do different? Anything? Are you gonna look at this like, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’ve heard it all before. woo. Congrats on your wisdom. Now you can shove it up your @**.” Or are you going to examine some of the fights you’ve had recently, or some of the less than perfect moments and see if you can’t move on from it?
Spring is all about growth and moving forward. Trees and flowers start their growth way before we see their buds. That’s just the result of their hard work. So I think it’s time I work hard too. ❤ Grow with the force.
